CrazyAlarm Privacy Policy
CrazyAlarm does not upload or collect your photos, videos, camera frames, movement data, or face state on developer servers. Movement and eye-open detection are performed in real time on your device with Apple's Vision framework. Alarm settings, language preferences, and wake-up records remain stored locally on your device.
CrazyAlarm (the “App,” “we,” or “us”) is provided by Na Wu. We respect your privacy and follow the principles of purpose limitation, data minimization, transparency, and security. Please read this policy before using the App.
1. How We Process Information
1.1 Camera, Body Movement, and Face State
When you intentionally open a challenge that requires visual recognition, the App uses the front camera after receiving system permission. The camera is used to:
- Recognize movements such as squats, high knees, marching in place, and raised hands;
- Recognize face gestures such as nodding, shaking your head, and opening your mouth;
- Determine whether a face is visible and whether the user's eyes are open; and
- Perform a liveness-style static-image check intended to reduce the use of a photograph in place of a person.
This analysis is performed in real time on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The camera starts only while a challenge screen is active and stops immediately when the challenge ends or you leave that screen. The App does not take photos or record video. It does not save raw frames, body landmarks, face landmarks, or eye state, and none of this content is uploaded to us or any third party.
If you deny Camera access, you can still use features that do not require the camera, but visual recognition and eye-open checks will be unavailable. You can change Camera permission at any time in iOS Settings.
1.2 Alarm and Notification Permissions
The App uses iOS system alarm capabilities to schedule alarms you create and may use system notifications to present reminders when needed. Alarm time, repeat days, sound, vibration, snooze, and challenge configuration are used to provide the reminder you request. Scheduling is handled on your device by iOS; we do not receive this information through our own servers.
If you deny Alarm access, the App cannot provide the corresponding reliable system alarm functionality. You can review or change permissions in iOS Settings.
1.3 Information Stored Locally
To provide its features, the App stores the following on your device:
- Alarm configuration, including time, repeat schedule, sound, vibration, snooze, and challenge settings;
- Wake-up records, including date, alarm, challenge type, completion result, completion time, and whether the eye-open check was exempted; and
- App preferences, including interface language and necessary one-time snooze state.
This information is not sent to us. Apart from any operating-system backup performed according to your Apple settings, the App does not provide accounts, cloud sync, or backup to developer-operated servers.
1.4 Information We Do Not Collect
The current version does not require an account or login and does not collect your name, telephone number, email address, precise location, contacts, advertising identifier, device fingerprint, browsing history, purchase history, or health data. The App contains no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or cross-app tracking and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
2. Sharing, Sale, Transfer, and Disclosure
Because the App does not transmit or collect the local information described above, we do not sell it, share it, or use it for targeted advertising. We have not integrated third-party SDKs that collect personal information.
We may comply with applicable law, legal process, or a binding request from an authorized public authority, but we cannot provide data we never collected or held. If a future merger, acquisition, or asset transfer involves personal information we actually hold, we will provide legally required notice and require the recipient to remain bound by this policy or obtain new consent where required.
3. Security and Retention
Local information is stored inside the iOS app sandbox and protected by operating-system security controls. We apply data minimization by design and do not operate a server for camera content or recognition results.
Local information remains until you delete the relevant content in the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling normally removes the App's local data. Retention and deletion of device or system backups are controlled by your Apple account and system settings.
4. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: You can view and edit alarm settings and view wake-up records and language preferences in the App.
- Deletion: You can delete individual alarms. To clear all local App data, you may uninstall the App and manage device backups as appropriate.
- Withdraw permission: You can disable Camera, Alarm, or Notification access in iOS Settings. Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing that occurred before withdrawal, but related features may stop working.
- Contact us: You may use the email address below to exercise any additional rights available under applicable law.
The App does not provide user accounts, so there is no account deletion process.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed primarily to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. Parents and guardians should supervise a minor's use of alarms and movement challenges. If you believe we have unknowingly collected a child's personal information, please contact us. We will investigate and take action as required by applicable law.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App itself does not use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, or similar online tracking technologies. If you visit a separately hosted support site or privacy-policy webpage in a browser, its technical processing depends on the actual hosting configuration. We do not use the App to link such visits to your identity.
7. International Data Transfers
The App does not collect or transmit personal information through developer-operated servers, so we do not perform international transfers of your personal information. Operating-system, App Store, and system-backup services provided by Apple are governed by Apple's policies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in features, technology, or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide an in-app or other prominent notice where legally required and obtain new consent when necessary.
